Any new mamas or expecting mamas to be out there? Expecting your first child is a very exciting, emotional and thrilling time! And also brings a lot of nerves and feeling of overwhelm. Getting the items you need, setting up your baby registry, what do you need, what colors to get, what products are better? Ahhh! do I have another gray hair popping??!! These are just some of the million questions we ask ourselves as new and s*it scared parents to-be-! Yes it is OK to feel like this. Completely normal!!! You walk into Buy Buy Baby, Target or any other baby store and you are thinking “Omg, what the hell do I need?!” or “I have absolutely no clue what to get or where to start!” It is OK! Take it step by step.
What I found to be less overwhelming was going into the store I was registering at and focus on the bigger ticket items first ( stroller, car seat, crib, etc) and spend time talking with the store associates and specialists there on the differences about safety and durability. I found that to be one of the more important things to do first. Everything else I could add online to my registry and not feel like a crazy mess trying to cram everything in that day or spend my whole day there and not get much done! It is amazing what they have now for babies! I will say though the boys Weeblock cup was a pretty ingenious idea. Boy mom over here and wish I would have bought that!
So why am I saying all of this? I want to ease the burden of not knowing what to get, help you in with what I recommend and found necessary too add to my registry or wish I would have added! Also, I did not want to put a ton of clothes on my registry because I found people tend to give those items more after the baby is born and found I needed more of the other necessary baby items more. Plus, newborns live in onesies and footie pjs for first few months and they poop/spit up all day long! Why spend $300 on Burberry coat? Well, maybe I will- splurge for mama:)
